The artist-in-me is enlivened by the more visual nature of communications, today. Showing the world just a bit of the amazing depth of Penn State is exciting, as I manage the new Tumblr blog called Big Black Glasses, pushing out (mostly Penn State) STEM excitement to tweeners, feeds my creative side. I work in photography, text/image editing and connecting with resources, daily. I especially like building collaborations. Let's chat.

“Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.” Yoda

This quotation sums up the way most people’s relationship to statistics develops. But not me.

My name is Cody Steele, and I’m the guy who Eston Martz warned you about. From the time my 6-year-old self decided that Superman’s most amazing power was his intelligence, through buying a calculus book after college so that I could integrate functions for fun, I always liked math. After I took my first statistics course, I was hooked. It astounded me that statistics could help you make decisions when all you had to … Read more

I have taught at Penn College for over eleven years after returning to college and making a career change. Teaching is what I am passionate about. I enjoy connecting with students on their level while getting them excited about the latest methods, tools and technologies related to Web development and design.

I am also passionate about being outdoors. I like to get "off the grid" as much as possible while backpacking, kayaking, sailing or skiing.

In love with my husband and best friend who still walks me to my car every morning no matter what the weather is or how he is feeling.

Mom of Mindy and Chris and proud of it. Step-Mother to Laura and Angie. Grandma to Sage, Kaia, Mark James, Malyk, and Madix.

Tired of programming in the mid-1980's I took a break from it. After all, it wasn't very social at the time. In 2000, I got back into it and have been really enjoying the newer languages such as jquery and php. Gone are the days of just programming accounting systems with cobol or rpg II.
